Lets face it, we are all very busy and can’t always make it to the gym. This year our focus at Horsey Couture is “Make Time for a Workout Every Day!” So plan your week accordingly…If you need to break it up, try 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. If you only have 10 minutes, focus on one muscle group at a time.
This is what our week looks like ~riding is our first priority and great for toning the legs, thighs and butt- great cardio too. Don’t forget to stretch, it will make your ride that much better. Yoga is a must ~it will make you a better rider and relieve stress at the same time. Hand weights for toning ~ work those arms and don’t forget the lunges, as painful as they are. Additional cardio is needed whether running, jogging, biking or the elliptical-get that heart rate up. Do the plank for as long as you can hold it at least every other day (it’s great for your back and strengthens your abs) and while you’re on the floor go ahead and add a few crunches, bicycles, leg lifts, pushups… Try jogging in place while brushing your teeth, folding clothes, cleaning out the dishwasher and any other daily to do’s.
