Celebrating Labor Day is about being thankful for the work of all the people who have made our country great. We tie this holiday closely to the end of summer and the beginning of the new school year. For a fun take on red, white and blue this Labor Day, incorporate our Horsey Couture USA Pocket Tank and Martha Stewart’s delicious Berry Spritzer drink into your festivities.

BERRY SPRITZER

This delicious berry spritzer is the perfect summer drink.

Ingredients:

3 cups blackberries

1 cup rasberries

1/2 cup Simple Syrup (bring 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat, and cook, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Let cool completely.

1/c cup white grape juice

1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Ice, for serving

Seltzer or sparkling wine, chilled

Patriotic fruit skewers, for garnish

Directions:

Place blackberries, raspberries, simple syrup, grape juice, and lemon juice in the jar of a blender; puree until smooth. Strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve, discarding solids. Fill 8 glasses with ice. Divide mixture evenly between glasses; top with seltzer or wine and serve immediately garnished with fruit skewers.
